-Natural History: basic species descriptions, behaviors, distributions, etc.

-Ecology: wildlife ecology, plant-animal interactions, forest dynamics, disturbance ecology, habitat fragmentation, biogeography.

-Ethnobiology: plant use knowledge, traditional ecological knowledge, preservation of shamanistic knowledge, cultural preservation.

-Conservation: species conservation, habitat protection/ securement, community based conservation. 

-Tropical & Sub-tropical Studies: with particular interest in the Eastern Andes-Amazon basin region.
